Food and beverage management programs train students in the basics of restaurant cooking and baking, food safety procedures and nutrition. Students in a diploma program in food and beverage management spend time in the classroom as well as gain hands-on experience in kitchen laboratories. An outside internship in a food service establishment is usually required. This practical experience trains graduates to work in a variety of food service establishments, supervising all aspects of food operations.
